Going on a family holiday there at Easter, taking the bike and planning on at least one full day at Kielder (60 miles away) but was wondering if there was any riding closer to the Cresswell area, coast path maybe?

There is a coastal path to Amble, you can also ride along the Beach.

Thrunton is great bit not good unless you know were to go because the trails are not marked.

There are a lot of good road rides.

Thrunton Woods is only around 35 mile away. Not a huge day out but if you are in the area ……

    Edit; too slow!

I live in Amble, email me. If you have a CX bike it may be a better bet.

Back of the Cheviots can be good but only in nice weather.

Thanks Mike. Thrunton is about 45 minutes from where we are staying so we may be able to sneak an early morning ride in one day. Basically I’m going on holiday with my best mate/riding buddy and our two young families and we’ve only got a wifes pass for a day at Kielder and maybe ‘something else locallish’ 😉 Are the trails at Thrunton easy to find?
