  • Because of our rather restrictive rights of way network, there aren’t a lot more. There’s one more which isn’t technically a right of way, but which has a surfaced road to the top which the Parks guys don’t mind you riding, and that’s Drum on the north coast. The peak’s at point ten on this route: Drum mountain and Conwy mountain. That said, it doesn’t really compare to Snowdon or Cadair.

    There’s also the Rhyd Ddu route off Snowdon which I did a month or two ago – thoroughly recommended, but a bit of a different bag to the Ranger path…


    Having done Cadair Idris and the Rangers on Snowdon I am wondering which other big hills are worth doing and that the park authority allows us on in summer in the daytime?
