I’m about to change my brakeset from a set of M365’s to a set of XT M785’s. My current rotors have “resin pads only” wrote on them and my new brakes come with sinitered pads.
Can I run these together, or should I change the rotors, or even buy and use resin pads?
You have to buy resin pads.
These low cost rotors together with resin pads are great. But sintered pads will damage the rotor too quickly.
Spend 5 bucks for the new pads...

I’d probably stick some new rotors on - but I like sintered pads in he winter / wet weather. In fact I was using hem all year round until I discovered underbike rave matrix and they’ve been in ever since. I think they probably have too much metal in for the rotors you have too though. Both my bikes are running sram centreline rotors which have been good so far.
Those rotors are made of monkey metal, they wear super fast and sometimes very irregularly with sintered pads. Personally I'd run that combo til they wore out, but it won't be very long and it might do some weirdness.

Yep, it's just down to the hardness of the rotors, resin pads are fine on the more expensive rotors.
It's just sintered pads on the bottom end shimano rotors, they end up with a pronounced lip in only a few thousand miles.
Always check the details of the disc before buying; they always say what type of pads they can be used with.
