- Recommend me somewhere to buy ethernet cable
Couple of options with lengths including 10m and 20m :Posted 1 month agomattyfezMember
May aswell get cat5e STP as opposed to cat5e UTP for the price difference.
STP = shielded twisted pair
UTP = unshielded twisted pair.
If the cable isn’t specified, assume it’s UTP.
You could get cat6 as it’s not that expensive but it’s completely overkill for a PlayStation.Posted 1 month agoCraigWMember
Shielded twisted pair has to be installed correctly for it to actually work. ie it needs to be grounded at the ends.
Also a bit heavier and thicker. Not much point in paying any extra for it.
Any Cat 5e / Cat6 UTP will work fine.
Just make sure it is actually copper, some of the cheap stuff is CCA (Copper Clad Aluminium), which may be less reliable, and more easily damaged by bending it etc.
Kenable are good. They also have an Ebay shop, maybe cheaper with postage etc.Posted 1 month agoeskaySubscriber
