Just finished End Of Watch, http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt1855199/

Absolutely fantastic, one of the best films I’ve seen this year.

And a mate talked me into watching Anuvahood, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1658797/

Which again was also really good, in a “this is terrible but I can’t stop laughing” kind of way.

My “to watch” film list is running a bit low, so looking for some inspiration.

    End Of Watch

When I watched this I got caught up in, and pretty much carried through, the whole film by the visceral nature of it.

…it was only on reflection I thought it was a little bit cliche ridden, and a bit on the nose in some of the tropes it wheeled out.

Still, as a shot to the brain for 80-90mins, it was a cracker.

End of Watch felt at times like “SouthLAnd- the movie”, but great nonetheless.

Quirky film I enjoyed recently was “Dead in France” – low budget, non-famous actors piece that amused and entertained without feeling too much like a fresh from film school number.

Despite some pretty poor reviews I quite enjoyed Seven Psychopaths. There were some genuine laugh out loud moments.

I watched Man on a Ledge earlier today. Thought it was decent – 7/10ish,
    Lawless – 8/10
    Drive – 9/10
    Brave 8/10

Plust lots of others, but they were about the best i’ve watched recently.

Hangover 2. Worth every bit of it’s £3 price. Bit controversial as I know everyone else probably hates it but it made me laugh. I’m easily pleased though.

Lord of War = absolutely superb film.
Angels’ Share = also good, less of a comedy than I thought it’d be though.
Ted = very funny, if a bit far fetched.

Man from Nowhere – a bit like Oldboy crossed with Leon. The Koreans really are the best at revenge films.

The Intouchables – great French film, and one of my 2012 top films.

    http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt1675434/

has 8.6 on IMDB which is pretty decent for IMDB

    Recently watched – Hangover 1 & 2 – both fantastic.

In the last few days (just because they were on) watched Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol – perfectly acceptable for the genre…

…and today – Cowboys & Aliens. Thought it was great.

I rarely watch Oscar winning films, just films that entertain me without being too serious.

Actually got The Butterfly Effect on at the moment
