Appreciate it’ll probably depend on who it is but is there an average fee which some people get when a radioshow has an expert or ex sportsman phone in and chat for 5 minutes? Hundreds? Thousands?!

We’re not quite at the point of paying people with cake toppings.

I reckon sometimes they are doing it for free, on the basis that they are trying to build/maintain a career as a media personality, and will get other work off the back of it, or they have a book to promote or whatever.

Probably nothing if it’s a short phone chat.

if it’s a recurring expert there may be a facility fee but that be in the tens of pounds instead of the hundreds.

in the good old days of actually talking face to face a contributor would either have travel expenses paid or a taxi laid on.

sports pundits sometimes charge, depends on the program but again it’s not a massive amount.

Yep, zilch. Though the BBC did send a car for me once, which somehow made it more nerve-wracking.
