the divers style watch is nice , but they do a more stylish one with a stopwatch for £18.

Isn’t that rather stretching the envelope though?

Cheap, tough, and simple is what you need.

    Chuffin’ heck, £15?
I think I might get one of those just in case my G-Shock goes tits-up for any reason. I hate wearing my Seiko to work, too much machinery around that I have to mess with, often rather suddenly, so it’s easy to forget I’m wearing it when I shove my arms in to tear mangled paper out of the bloody things!

and is water resistant to 100 metres (10 bar)

At a depth of 100 meters the pressure is 11 bar. If it survives 30m (4bar) I would be impressed. I wouldn’t take it diving though!

If it is waterproof to arm dunking depth it is fine by me. At 10m it would be more water resistant then I’d be be!

Casio digital watches will always rule. However, ‘divers style’ smacks of ‘chocolate flavour’.

I had an F-91W and was gutted when I left it at hospital after the operation on my ankle. I have an orange W-214H now and its ace.

Go me one of these for bike and surf duties, a right steal for £20
It’s chuffing ace and has a 10yr battery life too 🙂
So far it’s been very robust

I take one to 60m (7 bar) quite often, seems to be holding up OK.

mine didn’t make it home from the red sea, the salt fused the rotating bezel and crown screw… when it just stopped it went in the bin but it wasn’t the pressure that killed it, just died one evening

for that price it’s not a bad watch, I seem to remember it keeping decent time…

Its a crime on single track to point out that you can tell the time cheaply

I think its the only time on single track that I’ve ever had people take offense. All I did was point out the price of the watch

I won’t tell you how much my watch cost. I was going to post the a link but Decathlon have discontinued it!

Pfffft, W-86 for the win 😀

Long time F-91W fan, but the backlight on the ’86 (as those of us on the cutting edge refer to them) is easily worth the extra £5.00.

    not chunky enough 🙁

It looks familiar though. I have a feeling I bought my dad that watch when I was a kid (must have been somewhere around 7-10 years old).

I used to have the top of the range calculator casio watch. Was a lot nicer looking than the cheaper ones at the time with flusher buttons with a tasteful bit of red on a couple of keys and 50m water proof compared to 25m so would win at playground watch top trumps. 😀

    Quite fancy a G-shock now.

Oh I still have my first watch. A Knight Rider watch from the 1980s. The back doesnt stay on any more for some reason but i am tempted to see if I can fix it and put a new battery in and see if it works.

I wonder if it is year 2k compatible? It has the Knight Rider theme tune as the alarm. I remember when Gran bought it for me 😀

If you wear one of those Casio F-91’s just be careful who you let see it. Or you may be going on a rather long ‘vacation‘…
