yep, I’ve got the Aurora watch app and it’s been pinging a few times recently. Light covering of cloud though tonight here in N.Wales

Everyone brace themselves for their social media to be full of annoying people who live nearby who go out and take photos with the settings completely maxed out saying that they saw it when they didn’t see anything with their eyes at all!

This was last night – just a faint green glow on the horizon. It was still light here when the red alerts were pinging.

I’m in pretty much as far west N Wales as you can get and it’s raining here… So good luck!

North of Keswick, partially clear to the north, hardly any light pollution then the intensity nosedived… ☹️

Erm were about 4miles  north of Hexham. sky is half cloud, half clear. Not even a glimpse of colour yet

What time does the light show start?

All down to the ‘don’t bother’ level now.

    Full moon doesn’t help.

G4 geomagnetic storm that can disrupt satellites, comms and even power. And potential for a decent light show if you’re opp north in particular, but one site said depending on how big the storm could be whole UK

Just sent my dad a message to get up on a big hill in the Yorkshire Dales. Here’s hoping there’s a least a glimmer from my window on the outskirts of Sheffield.

It’s still daytime in Scotland so nothing to see here

Spectacular in Lake District, clear skies and wide spread aurora.

BBC reporting with pics in Essex and Kent so a fair chance further north if skies are clear.

Here in Angus it’s finally dark enough to see… And it’s more visible in the southern sky, coloured beams all the way down the sky to the southern horizon! To the north, the sky is still too bright with the post sunset gloaming.

I live opposite a street light and still got a faint glow on my phone camera, but there’s some beautiful stuff being posted here and locally

Never seen them like this from Kent before. Better photo with my iPhone than when I used an SLR in the arctic circle 10 years or so ago!

The colours are clearly visible with the naked eye – not always the case.

Super weird to be wandering up the lanes at the back of the village and bumping in to so many people out for a walk at nearly midnight.

I usually have to look directly north to see it – and I’m in Aviemore. Seems to be visible in every direction at the moment.

This one was taken looking directly up. It’s actually a bit scary!
