Does it work ok on PS4 or is it significantly better with a Pro?

It’s a bit better on Pro, but it’s still awesome on a PS4.

Right, so Pro isn’t really worth an upgrade in general?

Not with the PS5 due this year, I’d say.

You have the full answer above, but to reiterate; it is awesome on a regular PS4

In addition, if you get the latest headset etc, Sony have already stated that they will be compatible with the PS5 when released.

I have no useful contribution to make other than, make sure you play the VR  x wing demo level on Star Wars Battlefront II.

It’s only about 10 minutes long but it’s the best 10 minutes of gaming that a man of a certain age can get.

    Also, get Doom.

    and clean pants.

frustratingly, despite the pro having twice as much gpu, the VR doesn’t really take much advantage of it so the graphics are still solidly PS3 level.

That said it is lots of fun, just budget for adding an aim and move controllers for full immersion

Worth buying battlefront II for? Wasn’t a fan of the first one is all, so would only be getting it for the VR

Probably not. It’s only a demo , quite linear and, in gaming terms lacks re-playability.

If you can borrow a copy though….YOU GET TO FLY AN X-WING IN A DIRECT ASSUALT AGAINST AN IMPERIAL STAR DESTROYER.

Do you know what the odds of surviving that are?

    Never tell me the odds.

Not bad, apparently. The Empire seems to have designed its Star Destroyers to counter the threat not of small fighters but other very large vessels that no-one else seems to have. Then again, maybe they destroyed them all so it was a good strategy after all.

I’ve got a basic PS4, few years old now. What do I need to get going with VR then?

Wipeout is good and Dirt Rally is really cool
Resident Evil not got far into it yet but scared the shit out of me.
I can’t play for very long though it does make me feel a bit sick.

Can’t remember the name but there is a free VR game on PS+ this month

A PSVR headset w/camera (sold as a bundle normally) and some VR games.

Other hand controllers are available, and make for a more immersive experience, but not compulsory.

Gran Turismo, a descent ff steering wheel setup and VR headset. Brilliant combination. Cant wait for the PS5 version with better graphics and more cars on track though.
