Please confirm…. when it says x number of clicks from fully open, is that all the way to the + or the -!?

( I think it’s daft it describes as fully open or closed in one place then says faster or slower in the next, it’s inconsistent!)

Closed is slower and normally “screwed in”.

Best to count clicks from closed as it’s more consistent that open.

Put the dial all the way to + and then turn it back towards the – by the number of clicks.

So closed is towards the – then

Which means you two have directly contradicted each other.

    Fight? 🤣😜

(My edit controls have disappeared so I can’t quite properly 🤔)

Don’t think we have…I’ve described what the op has asked for and the other is suggesting it would be better to do it from fully closed (so all the way to – and then turn a number of clicks towards +.

To me – means less damping and + means more damping.

Moving all the way to – means theres the smallest amount of damping or no damping so it’s fully open.

Damping is used to reduce motion.  So using less damping and moving towards – end will allow the shaft to move faster, moving towards + end will add more damping and slow down the shaft.

Closed is slower is + (more damping). Most suspension systems will offer enough difference between -&+ that you can feel which is slower/faster. Usually easier to notice in rebound.

Typically, unscrewing an adjuster opens it, offering less damping, moving in the -ve direction

Screwing an adjuster in, in the +be direction makes things slower by increasing the amount of damping.

I believe that the counting from closed (i.e. from full +), is why click numbers are often quoted with a leading minus sign, to avoid doubt about which end was counted from.

I like the way the Shockwiz explains things. Softer and firmer 🙂
