Perhaps it backs up what people have been saying that people would rather say Yes to avoid confrontation/lectures/patronising but know they will vote no.

bout 140k in it, 15 to go.

If this continues, I’ll support it, but scotland should shut the **** up about being a nation.

I’m oot! Looks like a no to me and another referendum in 10 years after the 3 toff parties from Westminster wriggle out of their promises from the last few weeks. Still hopeful of waking up to a miracle though.

You are Tommy Sheridan and I claim my 5 MCeuropounds

Former Socialist MSP Tommy Sheridan, who has been campaigning for a “Yes” vote, told BBC Scotland: “It is not looking good to be honest. I am feeling almost broken-hearted.
“I feel that the British establishment has mobilised the big guns, they have mobilised the bankers, they have mobilised the billionaires, they have mobilised the supermarkets, they have all been corralled into Number 10 and told to get out there and frighten people and I think that people have been frightened.”

are you trying to intimidate me there 😉
It’s been widely reported from various news outlets but as you say didn’t happen. There must be another reason why people were saying Yes when meaning No.

Largest city in Scotland and third largest city in UK votes Yes, unfortunately not enough.

    glasgow 53/47%

    It’s f’ed tbh.

Congratulations no. You’ve become northern britain. Your Scotland died tonight and you rejected the chance to build something better..

    Enjoy getting shafted from westminster.

    I’m oot.

Very surprised that 1 in 4 Glaswegians didn’t vote after seeing the scenes on the streets these last few weeks, especially with the turnout in other areas.
    What happened?

[Having said that, 75% would be high at any other time].

Shafted? 170, 000 Glaswegians said no. Are they idiots then or putting aside emotional unstable thoughts and looking at the facts/pros and cons?

Disagree. Independence wasn’t the only answer to the question 🙂

    What happened?

some places in glasgow can get 30% turnourt, so in relation to that it’s fair enough, the rise in turnout is apparent on a par with everywhere else.

They are called the silent majority for a reason, they are happy to be ruled. Nothing will change.

We can but hope Westminster suffers a smugness overload. The buggers are going to be even more insufferable for the next few days.

Oh the champers will be gushing like a highland torrent today, “Great work chaps! The McOiks swallowed it again! And we made a mint from that little market wobble we set up…As soon as the fuss has died down we’ll really show them who’s in charge… HOORAY!”

My wife was in Glasgow this week and said the intimidation and abuse from Yes campaigers, directed at those who said they were voting No, or didn’t want to say, was scary. And she’s from Paisley…

I’m still watching. Looks like I’ve earned my hangover. 🙂

Can’t argue with the results, massive turnout.

It’s a victory for democracy even if I don’t like the result.

Gordon Brown has swung it IMO.

Only 1/2 million more needed for a No. Back to Salmon claiming it on away goals and devo max, trouble is he needs the rest of the Uk to vote for it.
