Would you put a longer stem on to compensate the backsweep? They would be replacing bars on my commuter with very little backsweep.

I've got Jones Loops on two bikes and haven't bothered but it does depend on the bike to some extent. Jeff Jones recommends keeping the same stem so I'd imagine the same applies to the OO Geoff. Try it and see, an easy change to make if you think a longer stem would be better for you.

One point to note, don't have the bars flat, angle them down towards the rear. Again personal preference but start with 10-15deg. Also I don't get on with them if they are set low so you may want to stick some spacers under your stem. Again play around to find what works for you.

I have mine on a 70mm stem whereas it was originally a 45mm

TBH they're wierd, and they're on a wierd bike (4.8" tyres and a 13.5" high BB!) so any handling traits are hard to pin down, it corners like a motorbike (countersteer and tip it in) so having hands behind the steering axis feels like it suits it!.

Yeah id say they probably need a longer and higher stem.
Using the same stem, they were definitely too low for me.

About 15mm extra worked for me with Jones bars

Probably. Mine clap me in the knees on a 90mm stem. TBH they still clapped me in the knees on a 110.

In the end I just put it down to ‘different type of riding’. I found the same issues with North Rounder-style bars (my prior tour/gravel choice) unless they were angled forwards.

Have since wondered if should have opted for a Mickey, but I’ve also grown rather fond of the laid-back cruiserish tone dictated by the Geoffs.

Currently switching* whimsically between Geoff bars or a flat carbon set with Ergon bar-ends (also depending on planned rides) and find it interesting how my performance/speed/ride-style differs depending. As of writing I like the Geoffs most of all for the pseudo-aero tuck on long sections combined with the all-day comfort - but OTOH prefer the flat bar + bar-ends for climbing, fast-reactions on technical and also sprinting

* Three cheers for open-face-plated stems and lock-on grips! Am old enough to remember days with neither.
