    …a small island with only 80,000 inhabitants…

The IoM has had a very successful youth coaching system going for years. I remember competing at the IoM Cycling Week in the 90s and watching one of the junior events. They had hordes of wee kids pedalling their legs off. It was inspiring to see, and they have obviously reaped the benefits in the current generation. I also see Andy Roche, who was racing back then, is still riding and on the start list!
