I have been HERE a few times & it’s a really nice site, not sure if it fits your needs but hey ho, at least it’s an answer 😉

    Cheers.

We stayed at Kelling Heath a few years ago. Good facilites, nice place as a large part of it is given over to a SSSI and there’s a halt on the local preserved steam line there. Not sure it’s what you’d call quiet, but then again will anywehre decent be at this time of the year?

To quantify quiet – I mean no massive play areas, pools, bars, arcades, etc!

OK. Kelling Heath had a small leisure club, but along with the shop and cafe it was all easily avoided in one central area. None of the other more raucus stuff. Was a few years ago mind, could be different now.

Foxhills is good but they’re booked up for a lot of the summer already:

Woodhill Park just outside Cromer is nice.

For somewhere a bit quieter and back to basics, Deepdale campsite near Brancaster Staithe is nice. They do tee-pees you can stay in, which look pretty nice.

West Runton . We’ve just booked to go back for another week in August . Loved it last year. Bit of a trek from the north east but well worth it we think.
It’s a caravan and camping site but you don’t have to be a member to get on it – we weren’t last year.

Deer glade was great last year. Had a hog roast on the Saturday night, small but clean and adequate shower blocks, not too far from lots of places.

Make sure you visit Bewilderwood. It is amazing! And Fat Birds in Hunstanton had a very relaxed policy about letting tyre kickers test ride Ti bikes ……

I’m biased as it’s where I’m from but Pinewoods at Wells-next-the-Sea is at the start of five miles of er, pinewoods and beach and it’s a great area. It is a large site but it’s away from the town – a mile’s walk by the water and next to Holkham estate.

It’s carnival week next week which is brilliant for kids and there’ll be a few open air gigs going on around town too. If you’re there with a bike, give me a shout and I might show you surprisingly good trails.

There’s campsite at Stiffkey, just off the Marshes,2 min to the Cost Path.

Breck Farm is a large site just behind Kelling Heath. Good facilities

+1 for Wells/Pinewoods – nicest place I’ve been in Norfolk

For the North Norfolk Coast I would suggest Deepdale Camping – http://www.deepdalecamping.co.uk

Another great Norfolk campsite is Clippesby Hall in the Norfolk Broads – http://www.clippesby.com

Have a great stay in a beautiful part of the world!

Thanks for all the suggestions – we’ve booked in at Foxhills Camping today. Cheap, basic, good reviews, leccy hook-up for the wife’s hair dryer and next to the sea!

    Perfect!
