Mine are about 10 years old and need replacing, not my only shoes during this time but are the only pair I have now.

I ride trail centres and the peaks mostly. Not looking to walk much in them, but need comfort.

I wear sealskins in the cold/wet, but would still like something I can ride all year as well as commute on.

    Budget upto 100 notes.

Been very pleased with my Specialized Comp shoes, Just above your budget but there should be some knocking around in the sales. The inside is clever as there is no tongue which is nice, seems to form a cuff to stop dirt getting in.

Great mtb shoe… good for riding and also great for walking in…you need a overshoe for winter but I rate these very highly and I have tried lots of cycling shoes over the years !! A bit over your budget but highly recommended.

I’ve had a pair of these for about 18 months and very pleased with them. They come in wide as well

As ever, I’d go on fit, which h is entirely personal (I have narrow feet and get on well with Shimano).

I’ll be heading down my local on Tuesday for a fitting etc, but if they’ve got what fits and is recommended, all the better.

I will mirror the shimano m088 suggestion. I have the 078s and have been spot on. Great for walking in. Clambering up muddy banks and such like. Fit great for me. Fit is most important though

I found that Specialized fitted my feet well, and were OK for comfort and durability.
My favorite shoes (and current ones) are Shimano (M086)- they just seem to fit well (if tad on small side), and seem so robust, grip when walking well and just *work*

I like my shimano XC 50s – reduced to about &80 at the minute on. CRC & Wiggle.
