Worked for my garage. No reliability problems a couple of years later.

Had it a few months now, used 24/7 over winter to keep the WS dry (as there’s no heating).

Balls screwfix have sold out of those, any others recommended as well as the DeLonghi?

I have one from Duracraft which the shop kindly provided after a spot of bother with two from De Longhi. It does all one would expect.

    Meaco DDL8

Was the best deal around with 3 years of warranty.

At first I was sceptical and wanted classic compressor but those fancy desiccant dehumidifiers promised better performance at lower temperatures.
Change was dramatic, at first it took 2-3hours to bring humidity down from 65% to 45%. It was too dry. Now only needs to work for an hour then it switches itself off, it restarts to sample humidity every 30mins and if needed it will turn on again to dehumidify to 50% then it returns to standby mode.
Granted desiccant dehumidifiers consume more electricity than classic ones, but they dehumidify better and faster at temperatures below 20C*.
And as those are white goods no matter what brand you buy, get one with better warranty. As additional bolt on warranties aren’t cheap.
If operating at low settings Meaco DDL8 isnt’t that loud, my fridge is noisier in the kitchen.

Just borrowed my brother’s Meaco, it seems ace- only criticism is that it annoyingly resets itself to defaults every time I switch it off, but that’s OK. He’s had it running for a couple of years non stop in damp shipping containers so it’s been reliable too.
