For the last 2 weeks I’ve had ongoing neck pain, accompanied by general feeling of ‘woozzyness’ and not feel quite right, with occasional brief pangs of slight nausea. Don’t have a headache though

I’ve had this before, although never for as long. Went for physio last night and the physio lady suggested going for a scan as I may have a degenerated spine or something called cervical vertigo which sounds abit serious

    Anyone ever experienced similar symptoms?

My wife has. Not automatically catastrophic, but you need to get yourself checked out for nerve impingement and any problems with the structures of the neck vertebrae.

Thanks that ties in with what the physio said.

I’ve had similar sensation on and off before starting 20 years ago so hopefully noting too sinister

Can I ask what the issue with the wife ended up being? Was it a nerve issue?

Not nausea but I had prolonged neck pain, headaches and dizziness for weeks late last year. And again just not feeling right as a result but hard to pin down what/why.

GP put it down to poor WFH posture and a low laptop screen meaning hours on end head tilted down and putting pressure on whatver nerves etc in neck.

Changed work setup and did some neck stretches and over a few weeks it sorted itself out.

tp ,are you working from home?
Heard from a lot of folk that bad screen setup/position at home has produced some neck pain (leaning in to the screen too much).
They now do neck excercises like this

Yeah working from home. Position and posture definitely not helping but my issue is more why I have subsequent bouts of minor dizziness and nausea – sounds like it’s related to nerve or blood vessel compression

I had that twice, once after each AZ jab. Both times it started about 4 days after the jab and reached a peak of misery about three weeks after, thereafter declining. I’m two months after the second jab and can ride off-road with only mild discomfort now.

The first time I wondered what was going on and went for an x-ray an checkup – nothing wrong. The second time I realised it could only be the vaccination.

Yes neck pain a common theme in people who have side effects of the vaccine.

I’ve had similar too. Knocked me for six for over a month a few years ago. Turned out it was caused by a very tense upper trapezius muscle affecting my neck. Most likely caused by poor posture at work/computer and probs too much gym with no stretching.

Had all sorts of headaches, jaw ache and just felt terrible – couldn’t concentrate at work etc… Saw a specialist, had some massage, dry needling and did the exercises I was told to do and it cleared up.

Still a bit prone to tight traps but can manage it along with all my other aches and pains now.

It’s my upper trap that is causing me issues, ridiculously tight apparently, I could hear it crunch when I had physio

Did you get symptoms of dizziness and feeling a bit ‘spaced out’

Yes totally, I was zoning out in meetings at work and couldn’t concentrate. Had a headache for a month. It took me a while to realise it was my trap (and very tight pecs which compounded the issue). I thought it was all sorts of other things – opcitial neuralgia, tmj disorder etc. I had headaches, sore jaw and felt awful.

One session on my Trapezius and a few weeks of very specific stretches and exercises with 0.5kg dumbbells sorted me out.

I also bought one of those percussive massage guns which is really great for self management of tight traps/shoulders etc.

I had viral meningitis once, early 20s, the early stages were very much like described above. However, it was only a matter of 24 hours before I was projectile vomiting and the stalks of my eyes felt like they they had red hot knives stuck in them.
Seeing as its apparently been going on for a few weeks, Im going to go out on a limb and say its probably not that.
