    New bike day for me. Got a frame & headset from Bird, who were really great to deal with.
    Parts are 50/50 mix of stuff I already had & stuff from the Chiggle firesale + some other deals I could find.

    It’s a medium in the Tuscan Teal which is lush in the sun (what sun?)

    Not had a hardtail for 7ish years, so first ride was ‘interesting’, other than that i’m over the moon with it.

    FYI – not my grass etc

    Nice that, not many things better my eye than a steel hardtail!

    @tall_martin There’s a Fidlock bottle and a OneUp components 100cc pump in a 76Projects mount

    That’s a lovely colour and the fork matches it really well. When are you planning on getting it covered in mud?

    Lovely. The Forge kind of flew under the radar a bit, normally there’d be more fuss on here about a steel hardtail from a UK brand, especially one that nice looking.

    Looks great, wish they’d done the Aeris 9 in that colour.

    Almost looks anodised rather than painted.

    That looks great! 150mm fork? When I got my Moxie the Forge was in the final two. Great company to deal with too.

    Ooh lovely! I was looking at them before i bought my Dawley. I was a bit concerned about the low bb, but i suspect it’s actually great to ride else there would be more comments online. Have fun!

    Very nice indeed! I also came very close to getting one before ending up with a Moxie. That blue is such a great colour.

    That looks the bollox. It was on my final two before I went with the Banshee Paradox. Still lust after one though. One day..

    @chiefgrooveguru

    It’s a 160mm Fox factory 36 – deliberately running it with a touch more sag than usual.

    Other stuff is: SLX groupset + brakes, XM481/Hope Pro4’s, 200mm dropper, OneUp bar, DMR Defy stem, Hope seat clamp, bar ends & jockey wheels

    Spannermonkey, nice bike, I’ve got the same colour, looks ace in the sun.

    Which model of SLX cranks are you running? I’ve got a Deore Boost and the chainline is awful with a significant angle on the chain in the larger sprockets. I’d really like to pull the chainring back towards the frame.

    @st

    It’s the M7100, 165mm cranks and 52mm chainline.

    yeah, bonny bike that – I’d rather a bit longer seat-tube, I think

    spannermonkey, thanks, they’ll be the 142/148 version whereas I bought the 148 ones.

    Unite’s stingray colour bits might look good with that frame colour.

    That’s nice. I am loving my Aether and I agree that Bird are great to buy from. I keep mulling whether I could strip the bits off my old non-boost Norco Range and bodge them onto a forge.
