    Hello,

I was after some advice regarding holiday insurance. So here's the deal, I'm going to be spending the summer guiding in the French alps. I need to get personal health insurance but a few companies wont insure me as I'm technically working. Does anyone know a insurance company that would cover me?

    Thanks a bunch.

Ask if you would be covered when you join the CTC

Is the company you're working for British-based or French-based?

Actually, either way you should be covered under the French NHS system. This means that 80% of the cost of any medical treatment you require will be covered. If you're working for a British-based company then you need an EHIC card.

The remaining 20% can be covered by travel insurance if you're working for a British company. I would suggest trying Fogg, who do a lot of seasonal worker insurance packages. If you're working for a French company, then you would need a "Mutuelle" (personal health-insurance top-up).

I'd also rather strongly suggest that the company you're working for should be sorting this out for you!

If you are working, you are not on holiday. Suggest you either speak to the body you qualified with (you are qualified aren't you?) and they should be able to help. Failing that, speak to your future employers who, if they are worth anything, will be able to advise or help out.
