We will be in touch
Greetings all,
I recently bought a second hand 2010 Fox RP23 rear shock for my 2011 Specialized Camber Comp after trashing my Ario!
However, I have aproblem with the lockout on the RP23, even on the stiffest propedal setting the shock slowly sags down and then has travel (i.e its not locked out) I'm guessing it therefore needs a service (great!) but ive just seen this you tube video suggesting a basic seal kit service aint hard to do at all:
My question is will this seal kit service fix my non locking out problem or do I need to get it proffesionally looked at?
I might be being dim as it is late in the day but that doesn't lock out.
It just stiffens it/engages a platform.
RP23s don't lock out.
Rp23's don't lock out, they have three levels of propedal damping which restricts shock movement, but they don't actually lock out the rear suspension, it'll still sag in the maximum propedal setting but won't bob when your pedalling,
Ride it and fiddle with the settings, if you still think its not right give loco a shout on here, he knows his onions I believe,
ah, seems like another uninformed pruchase on my part then! typical.
Well I suppose I'll just have to see if I can get used to it, have a fiddle with the air pressure and rebound. If I can't get along with it, can you guys reccomend a similar quality lockout rear shock, 195mm?
Try it for a while and see...does the shock make any squelching noises? The RP3 is an excellent unit, you'll get used to the platform settings in no time.
If it squelches it's probably nothing more serious than it simply needs a service. LoCo tuning is your man.
well, thats why I upgraded to it, because of all the positive reviews. Its just that I do a fair bit of general xc on some of the routes I ride, so its gonna take a bit of getting used to, not having the back end as solid as it used to be........
oh, no squelching, I thought it was working perfectly till I took it for a proper ride.
