What is the current trouser of choice for 12 year old boys? Top be used for Scouts (which is 100% outdoor based), walking, tree climbing, biking and general adventuring?

Lots of Decathlon choice but also got on well with Craghoppers kit in the past. Ideally budget of around £30.

Looking for decent pockets, elasticated or adjustable waist, scuff proof on knees and ankle areas, hardwearing, shower proof and a slightly heroic look.

    Cheers

Craghoppers and Regatta git my eldest from Beavers to adult leader, without needing scuff panels.

I expect Decathlon do a perfectly good alternative cheaper than Craghoppers

Ours at that age had a mix of Decathlon or Jack Wolfskin, but they all wore much more the Adidas ‘joggers’ that are actually polester not cotton. Two of them still do, for biking and hiking, and are in the harder to find ClimaCool fabric, snug fitting ones as is the fashion…
