I’m not a natural road climber so I guess to get better you need to keep doing it.
The Salève is the big rock in Geneva with 5 routes up to the top. I choose the shortest but steepest for my first try.
Anyway – this is the aveverage % with some parts steeper.

This could get addictive – I want to get better.

Sorry to disappoint, but that’s only 800m 😛

From the village, not from my house 🙂

Lose weight till you get to around 60kg and light bike would make you quickerer..

Mountain climbing is addictive though – nothing better on a nice sunny day.

Idiot. There’s a cable car goes up there. No need to pedal

How long did it take you?

May I suggest some kind of electric motor. They are all the rage now you know 🙂

This part took around 35 mins. I’d already been climbing to get to the start of this climb.
Next time I’ll do things differently. I went too hard too soon and started to blow up when I got the the later steeper section.

You only learn from doing this stuff. Also loosen the cleats as there were a few moments where I nearly stalled and just unclipped in time.

    Does not compute!

Even at the reduced 7.5km shown in the photo, 35mins is still a really good pace. Think you were doing your climbing ability a disservice in the OP

I move from Hampshire last month so never really had the opportunity to climb like this. Well, there are obviously hills in the UK but not big and local to where I lived.

The 7.5 k is to the village. The 9. K is to the absolute top but that levels out at 5%.
The locals list the route from village to village
