    Couldn’t see one, so…..

Still plenty of mud around, but definitely signs of things drying out nicely. Almost dusty in places. Played a blinder today and dodged the showers almost timed to perfection.

Headwind in seemingly every direction on the tops, so glad I took the cheat bike

I think this is it (possibly).

    Riding not working today photos

I wish people would put WRPT in the title though! I got caught out last week also.

Good to hear it’s drying – where about a were you riding? I’m mulling over a trip to the peak tomorrow. Probably cut gate.

Last bit of rain here in central Italy was 12 days ago…..

Was a bit warm and muggy…. Wouldn’t mind some rain.

No mud here, after 4 grey days, the suns out with a vengeance……… between  Koblenz and Mainz, heading south on the Rhine.

Our local trails are now as dry as you want them to get, some of them on exposed hills are getting too dry. The kiddie winkles have been busy building some rather spectacular trails with lots of challenging features; speed jumps into berms, straight into track gaps, into a bend and sizeable gap jump. It took me a few run ins to get the courage up for the final gap, but as one of the teenagers noted, I “greased it” apparently:)

Sorry for the rubbish pics, these were just some randoms from yesterday, I was having too much fun to take any today!

Only Derbyshire Dales – 17 mile loop from home through Chatsworth.

Guess cutgate will be a similar picture, some dry bits, but some still very boggy bits. Think Tracey was up there last week though (pics in one of the other picture threads)

If you’re on Facebook, check out a group called The Rides – they were up Jacob’s yesterday.

Also a good group for people trying to find riding buddies. They do group rides every weekend round the Peak and beyond that anyone is welcome to join. Been meaning to join one, but not got round to it yet

I was out round Hope this morning. The rocky stuff was wet but riding ok. Everything else was a shitfest. Plenty of trails looking VERY tired after a long wet winter.

if I was riding there tomorrow, it would be Jacobs. Pretty much all rocky, so you might still get soaked from the ground up, but at least you won’t **** the trails up.

Thanks @JonEdwards – that’s good to know. I definitely don’t want to wreck any trails, so maybe I’ll give it a swerve (or, at least swerve anything not rocky)
Had a look on KoftheP and not much info up

Quick play in the woods at lunch today while Mrs Noise and the dog were off visiting friends for brunch and a walk.

The WBI (Wakerley Bog Index) currently oscillating wildly between a 4 or 5 and totally off the scale depending on which bits you choose to ride. Today’s playground was pretty much dry, but had to ride.push through a bit of a swamp to get there…

Those Chatsworth pics ‘almost’ make me want to get the bike out again!!

That combined with a physio on Thursday saying the best thing I can do to build muscle around a dodgy knee is get cycling.

I may have to drag the Ti Inbred out of the back office at work! I’ll rock the trails with my Olde Worlde 27spd machine! 🤣

Little 1hr blast on the gravel bike today – first ride in months due to injuries and illness. It was surprisingly quite dry in my part of West Yorkshire after recent rain

I even took a comedy tumble. It was just nice to get out!

    IMG20240414133848

Got up this morning in time for a ride, procrastinated, decided not to bother and give two of the bikes a VERY long overdue clean instead. Think I knackered the older of my two batteries for the ebike in the process. It was already showing signs of being on its way out though tbh

Put everything away then realised I should have given the gravel bike a wash too 😬

    Boring clean bikes pic

Yes it’s the bottom of the Deer Park, the first is climbing out of Mirfield woods

Not sure what’s happened to the built in rich text editor and image upload. Back to ImgBB.

Anyhow, nice ride out on what now appears to be my weekend standard Easter Moors Loop and other bits. May try Chatsworth way next weekend.

Drying out, but still lots of slop if you know where to look for it. New rear tyre helped a lot with traction. Was spoilt by a pretty dry Laggan Wolftrax earlier in the week 😄

Out and back on Cutgate for the second week running. Cold wind and the top was a bit wetter than last week

Always good to be out on the bike

Thought better of cut gate today as per my post on this thread from yesterday (thanks @JonEdwards)

Went to some woods in North Yorkshire instead…it was prime 😎😎😎😎

2100m fully leg powered ascending, 40Km in lots of little circles. Didn’t mean to do that much really, but I felt good so just kept going.

This cheeky chappie always comes to say hello at the spot we park at usually.

It seemed to like Gregg’s baguette with a bit of tikka mayonnaise on it

Ha you got me second guessing myself :- just pressed the Strava ‘correct elevation’ button and it now reckons a measly 1500m! I think my watch altimeter must be playing up.

Still on the big bike (it was on top of the bike pile in the garage), but gravel type route today. Didn’t fancy a second ride in two days dodging the swamps.

Devon, and especially Woodbury, has dried out a treat 😎

Managed to get a ride in Friday, Saturday and today.

Friday and Saturday were both solo 50ish km rides with lots of techy singletrack and beautiful Devon countryside.

But today’s was my favourite – only 15km, but out with my 10 year old daughter and my 82 year old dad 😁
