    Third week in August!

… it’s not, I’ve completely just made that up. But if it was and I was celebrating it, what should be on the menu to represent a country?

I’m presenting a chip butty from the UK, a big fat barm* with proper butter and home-cooked chips. Salt, vinegar, optional ketchup on the side.

I propose additionally, the US stalwart, the PB&J. Butter again, crunchy Jif peanut butter, Smucker’s jelly that you can’t get in the UK outside of Selfridges for the price of a lesser-used internal organ.

The Netherlands has melty chocolate sprinkles on toast for breakfast. This I can get behind.

What else have we got? Were Men At Work on point with their Vegemite sandwich for Australia?

What can you really only get properly in country of origin?

    (* yes yes, don’t start)

The Marshall Islands would go for a Spam sandwich – they love the stuff.
