- It's Friday! How stupid are you?
Done. Tricky though.

Posted 4 years agoOK “died” twice but to got to lev 8 and got bored. Keyboard helps.

Posted 4 years agoSuper stupid. Level 3. 🙁

Posted 4 years agoI enjoyed “sohcahtoa” being thrown into the victory music

Posted 4 years agoIt’s quite loud for those of you clicking the link in an office environment.

Or when on a skype call, in my case 😳

Posted 4 years agocompleted first time and got the dancy Vordermann. Fairly easy apart from the equation solving which you could nearly always do by working out if x should be odd or even, or just by the relative size of the options given rather than actually solving it.

Posted 4 years ago

it’s made my eyes hurt though.Up to Level 7 and need a serious breather…

…pressure maths is tough, people.

Does it get way tougher after Level 7?

Posted 4 years agoSorry wwaswas… 😳

If you’re crap at maths, like me, do what I used to do during maths lessons instead (no, not that!).

Posted 4 years agoOkay, WTF does 2x+9=17 mean?

Posted 4 years agoX = 4

Posted 4 years agoOh, so the ‘x’ represents an unknown multiple figure, jam bo?

Maths. 🙄

But I got to Level 8 before failing. 😉

Posted 4 years agoOkay, WTF does 2x+9=17 mean?

It means that X=4

Oh, so the ‘x’ represents an unknown multiple figure, jam bo?

*sigh*

Posted 4 years agoMaths so lost its way when it ran out of numbers and muscled its way into the letters game IMO.

Tom_W1987, I’m not having that sigh dude… last time I looked at maths seriously was 25 years ago. Then, it was all Venn diagrams and shit, my teachers urging me to bother with them because “they come in useful in real life” Hah!

So, 25 years in a maths-less environment and I’m still Level 8.

Save your sighs for the number 92. That’s a cracker.

Posted 4 years agoDoes it get way tougher after Level 7?

No, it’s easier from then on 🙄

What do you fink?

Posted 4 years agoThing is, that link wasn’t that hard but if you got to level 8 being bad at maths then your teachers…..somewhere along the line….clearly went wrong.

Check these links out and I bet you’d be suprised at what you can do.

Posted 4 years agoI feel like I’ve gatecrashed the maths geek party and I’m a-gettin a witherin’.

Fair enough.

* huffs and shuffles over to the ‘numbers are pants’ crowd *

Posted 4 years agodid I spell it worng?

I deleted it because I decided I didn’t feel that snippy! and that as algebra is a branch of maths, he wasn’t wrong.

Posted 4 years agoCamo, check out the links I posted matey. I’m willing to place a bet you’re better at maths than you think you are.

Posted 4 years agoHmmmm….apparently I can do simple maths under pressure. I was rewarded by a terribly ugly Maths Party screen?

Not sure if it was worth it. 😀

Posted 4 years agoMight do just that, Tom_W1987… I think it was the pressure that got to me!

Posted 4 years agoNot a lot harder after 7 camo, just faster!

Posted 4 years ago

took me two attempts each on 8, 9 and 10 😳Sadly I am very stupid:-(

Posted 4 years agoGot to level 7 here, which is a bit of a disappointment.

Posted 4 years ago**I ONLY WENT AND BLOODY DID IT.**Hah!

In your face, simple maths under pressure.

* once it’s explained it makes sense, sigh-guys! *

Posted 4 years agoAwesome. Now get back to me when you’ve done an OU degree in mathematics.

Which is actually almost the story of my life. I was bad at maths at school (I was placed in the bottom set). Later on in life it turned out that I can do advanced mathematics with ease and a related subject has become my career path.

In other words, teachers are bastards.

Posted 4 years agoIn other words, teachers are bastards.

Amen to that.

I was never bad at maths, just never all that interested… and it’s a fundamental truth of modern life that a calculator will do most simple maths problems faster than I can and without wilting under pressure.

Still, got there in the end. Think I’ll celebrate with a venn diagram or two.

Posted 4 years agoNo mate, go for a pie chart. Mmmmm.

Posted 4 years agoMaths get’s more interesting when you get beyond doing arithmetic using a basic scientific calculator Camo.

That was probably your problem at school, it probably wasn’t challenging enough.

Posted 4 years agoWork placement kid here (doing engineering) just completed the whole thing on his first go.

Posted 4 years ago

He is due back at Cambridge in 3 weeks though, to finish the final year of his course.

I fell at level 6.Completed.

Took me two attempts at 9 and 10 and I guessed one on 10 when i was running out of time!

Could be…

My Maths teacher was a sarky sod who delighted in our incomprehension and/or total lack of interest.

My most visceral response to his Venn obsession was something like…

I wouldn’t mind knowing more, but the problem with moving on in the old maths game is that you lot ^^^^^ (you know who you are) keep putting letters where numbers should be and get all uppity when a numptie asks a question. Shame on you. Shame.

* Eats pie chart and deliberately drops crumbs all over de place *

Posted 4 years agoI sent my friend the Watch game – 5 minutes later he sent me this:

I am astounded….

Posted 4 years agoIncredibly stupid as I’m off out to watch the England match tonight…

Posted 4 years agoDoesn’t even work properly – I beat the orange stripe to the right hand edge of the screen every time and it just says I’ve died. What a retarded website.

Don’t think of them as letters, think of them as symbols with meanings. It then becomes a lot easier, lots of people focus to much on “why is the freaky mathematician now putting letters into my mathematics…. I thought maths was about numbers….whaaaaa” As soon as you get over that and accept it, it becomes easier.

Khanacademy, is very very good for easing people into maths.

Posted 4 years agoGot to the end first time. Dancing vorderman, some blokes head with a robots body and some writing I couldn’t read. It said maths ……?

Posted 4 years ago

Quite good fun though.this has reminded me how much I enjoy quick-fire maths puzzles, and IQ tests.
