eh? Brant's joined Take That?
Can someone remind them its 1st August today, not 1st April
Wow.. the death of Ragley.. that was a short lived label then..
Sounds like it..
Can't wait for the new steel Titus 567 hardcore hardtail 😀
Funny, for some reason I'd got it into my head the Ragley was owned by Brant, and not another Hotlines brand.
Does this mean "Team Ragley" will now be extolling the virtues of Titus on here?
Despite the fact that the company Brant left two years ago bears no resemblance to the professional outfit that we are today
😆 End of the shed then, eh.
Maybe he's going to retire on the proceeds from introducing Ragley's new found headtube standard....
....OVAL !
bugger, time to stock up on Carnegies then...
I guess it won't be shedfire this time, "warehouse flood" (sale) instead !
the death of Ragley
People seem to forget that Ragley is a CRC brand, not a brant richards one.
In the same way that on-one, whyte etc continued after their original designers left we'll probably find that Ragley will continue as a 'hardcore hardtail' brand within crc/hotlines portfolio.
What a great opportunity for Brant to rejoin Planet-X and take over an international brand like Titus - I can imagine how exciting it must be to be given a brand like that and be told 'here you are, get on with it'. Can't see many on here not wanting to do that sort of thing?
I suspected those Ragley forks would never actually materialise 😆
Are titus really that well known/respected ? I only remembered about them once on-one started flogging them cheap.
His twitter profile could do with an update 😉
Didn't see that one coming!
Is that because he sees PX are doing so well and he wants his crappy, ill-thought out and poorly made tat to infect it again to divert attention from the fact that his Ragley frames are so cack they can't even make them with round headtubes or paint that sticks on the metal?
Titus were pretty big in the US, but struggled in the UK because they were stupidly priced. At their prime Racer-X in the US used to be about £800 (with shipping and what not), in the UK they were getting on for £1500 - daft!
Wow.. the death of Ragley.. that was a short lived label then..
I'm sure the label will live on with a different designer. It's a strong brand now.

Stateside? Yes, especially in XC circles. Been around for a good while.

Loving my Blue Pig X so far. Thankfully it hasn't suffered from any of the quality issues mentioned in the other thread and I'm very pleased with the overall frame quality and attention to detail, plus it rides fantastically well. It's a shame that the QC issues are blighting the reputation of what is actually a very very good frame.
robdob, that's very harsh.
can only be good for on-one to get him back. I would love a 29er inbred with a three finger bridge. I suppose it depends who owns the copyright on that though.
Loving my Blue Pig mk1 too, absolutely faultless 😆
Yes it is. My experience of 3 BrantCo frames has been shocking. All have needed major filing or hitting with hammers to fix problems that basic QC or testing should have ironed out. And the attitude of the designer, actually on this website when I was trying to sell my last one was that he didn't seem to care. He knew about the problem that was affecting the frame I was selling and said:
brant - Member
I really must do something about that chainstay clearance, oh I forgot, I am
So he knew it was a problem but sold all the frames full price nevertheless.
No company he designs for will ever get my money now.
I've just restored a 1992 steel GT (with a U-brake!) that was better made.
Brant you will never get a penny of me mate,
QC and process management don't seem to be his strong point, so I guess now he's done the designing bit if they get in some manufacturing engineers to get the processes in place to ensure the quality is there, that can't be a bad thing.
Titus do a carbon full susser that's £900 on On-One's website. That's fantastic.
Now, if only I could find someone who doesn't need their kidneys....
I personally woon't buy a Brant Richards designed bike cos they're aesthetically gash, but that's just me, and I know loads of others [s]without any sense of aesthetics, taste or style[/s] who love them. 🙂
Good luck Brant
Each to their own - for VFM On One beats the pants off anyone else and for me the geo of many of their bikes fits me and my riding needs. 🙂
Oh no, everyone has just bought a ragley as well. Now everyone will see them for what they are just like on ones once brant left the first time.
No company he designs for will ever get my money now.
+1
my td:1 is ace. and very well made from what i can see. had one problem with the drive side dropout when i got it which hotlines sorted in a couple of day. cant argue with that.
love my 456, had nothing but good experience with brant in the past, I just hope he sorts out that crazy steep geometry on those titus frames....
Oh good, another reason not to shop at Planet X ever again. For info #1 was getting bizarrely dicked around by Dave regarding an item i was selling on eBay, and #2 being some shocking customer service about a first gen Pompino i bought with the world's worst chainline.
I've never been a fan of on one or ragley bikes but I am looking forward to seeing what Brant does with a predominantly FS orientated range of bikes. I hope to see new designs with a different slant and wish him all the luck in the world. Titus is a well respected brand so it could be very interesting. Just dont **** up the QC!!!!!
Does this mean an end to XC geom frames from On-One ? Was after a carbon Lurcher when/if they ever arrive. Don't want some long travel "only to be ridden in Hebden Bridge" type bike 🙂
Stevo, Brant's stand in needs a new job after being outed.
outed or ousted?
But seriously, did they give him the boot then? If you're going to imply something like that on here then I'd make it clear what you're saying if I were you, else it's a bit unfair.
looking forward to seeing what Brant does with a predominantly FS orientated range of bikes
Expect chainsuck, oddly placed cable guides and slow supply becasue he forgot to order them.

It's unlikely the paint can get any worse than on my old Motolite though.

Don't forget the 'comedy' name for the frameset 🙄
WGAS
WGAS
Not you evidently, but others do. Hopefully that's ok.

You forgot:
Oval tubes that are meant to be round
Having to modify your frame using blacksmiths tools just so stuff fits on it
Not able to run a 12t cassette on your drivetrain
Leaving rack mounts on a bike because "I forgot to take them off when I designed it"
Wonky brake mounts
Rust stains on your downtube because of the "unique" gusset.
Headtubes all the same length because the designer "forgot" to make them longer for bigger frames so you have to use 18" of spacers. (100mm HT on a 20" frame)
It really is a rollercoaster ride!
All the Inbreds I've owned have been custom models. The bending/filing I had to do meant each was subtly different.
So there you have it. A custom frame for less than £200. 🙂
I do love my 29er Inbred though.
18" of spacers...crikey.
But what of that Ragley full sus frame? wIll it be released?
Love my mmmbop.
WGAS probably not Planet X- On One they will sell stuff regardless of what the minority on here state as fact.
Pretty smart move, OO now maybe have a bike manufacturer, an actual facility to manufacture stuff, makes a pretty damn good argument instead of letting Lynskey or Van Nicholarse manufacture the frames.
I don't know if their carbon stuff is made in house but its old technology anyway and if they switch to the far eastern folks to keep costs down I'm thinking many folk are going to complain no matter how they hype up and sugar coat the product
I think Brant will probably get the guy in who he collaborated with nukeproofs, to figure out the fine tuning and our spring rate is the best out there mumbo jumbo
How THE TINY uk market compares to the US is something probably the owner of OO has a clue about but I reckon they will sell stuff by the bucketload in the US if the price is right and the quality isn't bad
Personally TITUS only flaw for me was the price,
When It comes down to making money the duo ain't bad
When It comes down to making money the duo ain't bad
Pity it's at the expense of the quality of the product.
Pardon my naivety: WGAS?
Who Gives A Sausage
I try to give sausage as often as I can
Gotcha - thanks. Carry on, as you were. 🙂
Can someone post the twitter message? Can't access at work.
I was/am very very happy with my mmmbop, shame if the brand disappears, I was strongly considering buying the F/sus when it materialised as I get on with my hardtail so well.

Thanks wwaswas
Ref all the comments about Stevo, hope he's still there, after all there is a lot of Design work there now with the new brand - & On One still needs new and developed product. Stevo did a very good job with the new carbon bikes, swapout systems and helping to improve the way in which you can buy / spec bikes from On-One
Oh boo to the naysayers.
I'm looking forward to seeing what fun stuff comes out of this.
I haven't seen much difference in the time he has been gone, not much of a business model to be out of pretty much everything made of metal for months at a time, that didn't change.
I'm chuffed to bits my Inbred is versatile and has rack mounts. They do no harm afterall and now i can add some gears and a seat for the lad until he's old enough to ride his own bike. Perfect. No quality complaints either.
I would have thought Stevo is still there. Brant through his design company will only be doing Titus from what I read in that press release.
If Ragley don't do that full susser they were prototyping there is a nice gap for a UK style suspension bike for razzing in the woods. In fact, there's a gap for that anyway.

In what respect? Being shat on by On-One?
I assume proceedings for constructive dismissal will follow, so best keep it quiet.
.
can you do it, I can't report my own posts.
Just email a mod and ask for it to be removed
.
Post (and related one quoting it) removed
asked to pull my earlier post
Now the O-O marketing machine whirrs into life.
Unless the injured party would rather have this out in court?
sorry, beer and cakes all round, my shout
Has Brant left On-One?
Brant did do a couple of FS bikes the nukeproof scalp and mega ,, same man different hat ,,,
thepodge - don't go into PR 😉
Although you'd have a great future at News International.
I hear MI5 have jobs going, anyone wannabe give me a reference?
erm nukeproof
whats going to happen there?
as far as I know nukeproof come under the crc/hotlines empire
They all do Inc Ragley. I imagine Crc/hotlines will just employ another frame designer.
I imagine Crc/hotlines will just employ another frame designer.
I hear Stevo's looking for a job...
I imagine Crc/hotlines will just employ another frame designer.
I have a compass....
what about all the new bikes in different sizes that were going to happen this year.... whose taking over then ...if anyone ?
Never had a quality problem on any of my four PX/on-one frames.
The crew in sheffield are a good bunch, trying to earn a crust in a difficult market. I would rather give my money to them as they do try out new and brave ideas and sometimes come up with a product that is unique and fantastic (mary bars anyone?).
LOL. it was around 4 months ago when i put up a topic THE REAL TROOF, and i told everyone on here about the problems with Ragley as a company and all the reasons as to why the frames were never arriving, and the crap Tiawanese factory they were being made in, and guess what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You all slapped me down saying ohh no im talking rubbish, i dont know what im on about. im talking crap, well look who's laughing now HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Ragley = COWBOY COMPANY.
Also Brant has known about QC issues ever since they were born and has never done anything about changing factories, so yes he is to blame too.
I also will never give him a penny of my money or a company he works for.
