My phone is grumbling about not having much storage left…

… but seems to have triplicated the “Camera Roll” “folder”.

I now have Camera Roll, Photo Library and iPhone Photos – with the second two being copies of the first.

Is there any way of deleting these? I can’t find any obvious menu options on the phone, and tend to avoid hooking up to iTunes like the plague…

You need to sync it out somewhere and delete them. It’s the camera roll thats filling space.

In OS X world, I sync my phone with iPhoto then delete what’s on the camera. This clears the Camera Roll.

Photo Library, you can choose what you want to sync back and thereby restrict how much space you use on photos.

You delete the photos one by one. If you have HD turned on it keeps two copies of everything which is wasteful. Hooking up to iTunes is a good idea if only for creating a backup. Also iTunes gives a better breakdown of space usage, if you have lots of “other” it’s usually email attachments. If you wish you can create an automatic link to Flickr for example and auto upload every photo (1tb storage) then you need not keep them on the phone.

I have only a 16GB phone with plenty of apps, emails, 500 songs etc and I have room for 1000 photos and still have 3gb left.
