Posted 4 years agoBeen a quiet NY creatively, but lots of study. This morning felt different so dug out the Pencil.

Posted 4 years agoAre we putting digital stuff up then? I’ve never done portraits before, preferring to stick to landscapes, but a friend asked for a commission for his girlfriend for her birthday, so I just drew this bloke…

Posted 4 years agoI did this as part of the “Life Drawing” thing on Beeb4 last night. Turned out nothing like life drawing as you’re drawing from the computer screen. Interesting exercises anyway. I wished for charcoal, but only had a 6b pencil which was a bit rubbish.
Anyway, quite pleased with my effort at the Foreshortening exercise.. rest were pretty crap as I’m no good at time-limited stuff

Aubrey Beardsley thing on bbc4 made me pick up the inks too.
Posted 4 years agoGot a bit bored tonight so though I would try out a glass dip pen I bought months ago on Ebay for 3 for £5. It really is rather nice to draw with.
