    Drivers overcharged for repairs

Might as well just give everyone 60 quid and save yourself an enquiry

It’s about time they did something about it, to be fair.

They tried charging me £350 for damage. When I asked what the damage was (there wasn’t any), nobody could provide any details. Out of the blue about two weeks later my credit card was refunded ‘as a gesture of goodwill’. Chancers.

I did a one-way hire through EuropCar a while ago, dropped the car off and they immediately tried to charge for scuffed wheels. It was only when I showed them photos of the damage taken when I’d picked the car up and insisted they phoned the pick-up branch to verify that the car was in that condition at the start of the hire that they dropped the charges.

I just assumed it was a regular scam; hire out something that’s got some superficial damage, claim it was caused by the hirer and charge them.
