Does anyone have a GPX Editor? I’m really struggling to do a task and trying to avoid having to manually cut up a .txt file.

I have a GPX track of 32,000 points that is 1100km long. I need to split it up into 4 GPX files say 8000 points each as my gps will only allow tracks to be loaded/displayed of up to 10,000 points.

Is anyone able to do this for me if I send the file?

Basecamp will do it in an eaxy-to-use visual format. It’s a free download. Give it a go but if you’re struggling then I can do it for you.

    Hi Scotroutes,

I do have basecamp but couldn’t work out how to do it. I know it’s lazy but could you do it for me? I’m running out of time and need to get it done?

Chris Basecamp will also reduce the number of points via an optimisation algorithm – from memory its an option when you right-click on the track. You can do it multiple times, obviously you lose accuracy but imo its good enough for following a route

It’s easy enough to do in bikehike, but if Colin’s helped you out then it’s a bit late.
