I sort of knew about it when it updated a week or so back but couldn’t remember how to use it so forgot about it! This is on an oldish Pixel 6 Pro.

Then got a prompt today to show me hiowto use it again… It’s great!

On any screen (works within every app I’ve tried but there might be exclusions in banking apps etc) hold down the home button and the screen goes a kind of night sky blue and you can circle any text or a picture and Google will kick in and “Google lens” it for you. For words you can just draw through the word/to get a definition or search in other ways.

So simple but utter genius! I’ve used it on the forum a few times already to check out who an author was id never heard of or a word/term I’ve no idea the meaning of.

Give it a try if you have a Pixel.đź‘Ť

I’m pretty much a full blown technophobe, but that’s bloody brilliant 👍

I did it by accident the other day then couldn’t recreate it, so thanks 🙂

It’s a really cool feature, I got it on my Samsung S23 the other week. Used it a couple of times on YouTube videos to find out what something is or in one case where someone got a t-shirt they were wearing that I liked

Likewise – it keeps popping up and I’m getting close to seeing if I can turn it off

edit – it’s just a switch in settings, sorted
