Gonna go in a few weeks for the first time, spend a couple of nights there. I have been to Peebles, glentress, and a brief visit to innerleithen before.

Just wondering where to stay, I’ll be in a campervan.

Recently stayed at the site at Glentress, so that’s a known quantity. Anyone know what the site in Innerleithen is like? It gets mixed reviews! Stay there or stay at Glentress and ride over?

It doesn’t have to be fancy, but I’m there a couple of nights so would prefer showers/toilets rather than a random park up.

Any other recommendations nearby? There doesn’t seem to be lots of sites nearby.

Any other general advice? I believe the Traquair arms is good for post ride food/pint? I know there’s many threads to sift through but I reckon it’s a bit like Lakes recommendations threads, probably can’t have too many of them! 😋

The wolverine trail is gnarlier than it looks on YouTube, and the fireroad at the bottom was like an absolute quagmire last weekend. There are weekday closures in a couple of places at the minute, think everything is open on a weekend except Flat White, the end of Bigbaw, all of Nemo and the start of Aussie Rules, not local tho so I could well be  wrong about that

Ok, I’ll likely drive up on the Sunday and set up camp, spend the Monday riding and a few hours early on the Tuesday then head home. It’s a good few weeks off yet though so hopefully much better weather!

Tweedside caravan park is bang on.

Toilets, showers and a bar onsite. Shop a few minutes walk from the front gate.

And a 5-10 min walk to the Traquair Arms pub, which has great food, some lovely ales, and friendly bar staff.

You have to phone the Tweedside to book, and pay at the reception bit when you get there.

Inners & golfie a short, no dangerous roads, ride from Tweedside.

    Tweedside caravan park

Thats where we always stay. 5 mins to the centre of Inners, good showers, electric hookup for the van all you need really

Sounds like Tweedside the best choice then, I see a few dodgy reviews so figured I’d check it out here first!

Glentress campsite was ok, but totally sh!t up due to the endless rain!! The facilities there haven’t kept up with the number of pitches they now have, only two blokes toilets and the drying room was totally over whelmed because of the weather! But otherwise pretty good location, probably better outside of schools holidays.

I mean you shouldn’t park up in a bit of disused ground near cardrona and use the cross keys for “breakfast” and facilities at all. No one I know did that for 3 nights in a T4, no siree.

The little Craft beer bar near the Traquir arms is great too, Durty Brewing.

Saffron for a great curry. It’s tiny inside but the food is excellent.
