Seems swell, light and pretty fast. Like the idea of a visor more than sunglasses, especially riding on tt bars. Any other contenders out there? Looking for a fast do-it-all helmet.

Planet x do one for about 50 quid with a removable visor if I recall – although its possibly a bit more tt orientated.. I have one of the other carnac road models and its actualy quite good. I’d feel a bit of a tit  on my normal road bike out on the normal weekly ride if I used a visor, but each to their own!

I have one – it’s great when you’re ded sweaty as it doesn’t coat your glasses and make everything smudgy

Also has 2 visors, one supposedly for sunny days but I do find that on bright days you get much more of that windscreen-mirror effect where you can’t see into the shady bit under trees when you’re in the bright sunshine.  Gegs don’t seem to get that anywhere near as much

What you really need is a visor and a peak 😉

Look at the Girl Vanquish. As I understand just as aero as an air attack, but better vented. It doesn’t look too crazy without the visor too. I bought one for an Ironman bike and wore it in 20 degree conditions last week. I can’t tell any difference in cooling between that and my POC road helmet. Got a little sweaty on one longer climb but felt cool  and comfortable for the rest. Not cheap but a nice piece of kit and the magnetic visor is very smart. I’m a 59-60 head and wear a medium if that helps.

I use it in winter only as it isn’t as cool as my other helmets. It is ace in heavy rain or very muddy CX, like a car windscreen

Why not just go the whole hog?

If you have a Giro shaped head, the Air Attack is very comfortable and surprisingly cool. I wrote off two in races OTB. Managed to lose consciousness in both. Didn’t have the visor because I wear RX glasses, but would have liked to. Nice design.

Now aporting a Synthe just because other teammates have the same. But I did like the Air Atack. Especially when they were on offer.

I have the Vanquish – visor on for Time Trials only, very definitely visor off for road riding (dont EVER wear a visor when on a normal road bike). Its mega comfortable and is surprisingly well vented to the point where i rarely wear my normal roadie helmet unless its very hot and will be doing lots of hills. For 95% of the time the Vanquish is my goto these days.

Why no visor? seems like a great way to keep bugs and sun out whilst having a great fov, better than sunglasses. plus aero

I would very happily and comfortably wear the visor with the vanquish on any normal road ride for l the reasons pointed out by yohandsome (except maybe alps climbs), except I wouldn’t due to reason pointed out by Steve… But it is seriously comfortable, practical and effective!
