    Hi,

I need a new set of disc wheels and I’m looking at a 2nd hand pair of carbon rims around 30 to 40mm deep that are tubeless ready.

Ive seen a lot of giant SLR1 wheels on ebay and Facebook. They seem to come specced on bikes and people upgrade them so there’s a fair few around. They tend to go for around £350-400.

What are they like? Are the hubs rebranded dt Swiss 370 hubs? Or better 350s?

Anyone used them? Any feedback appreciated

Or is there anything else I should be looking at? Budget upto £600 max. Stealth add too do if you have anything let me know 👍

    Thanks

I’ve got SLR1 wheels on my 2017 Defy. They’ve been absolutely faultless since I bought it. Reasonably light, plenty stiff, no hassles setting them up tubeless. From 2021 on they’re hookless, which does restrict your tyre choice a bit, but the earlier ones are fine. The front is laced radial on the non-disc side and 2-cross on the disc side, which I think looks quite trick.

    From 2021 on they’re hookless,

Is that why they are 140g lighter?
