on timelines etc, and I’m too embarrassed to say how I know this, but the books are pretty bloody confused, as in events in book 4 or 5 (my erm, friend, who’s read them reports) happen only roughly in parallel with events in book 3 or 4. The TV version does a good job of ironing this out.
