Looking for a lighter hardtail for riding duties with my race head riding buddies. I have a Cotic Bfe (which is amazing), but with the build I have it is just a bit to much when up against carbon hardtail, and S-Works Epic's!

I'm down to a couple of choices now, but thought I'd cast the final decision making discussion to the STW collective to tease out any pearls of wisdom (I may live to regret this!). Choices are:

Cotic Soda
Cotic Soul - yes I know similar to the above, but need to weigh up cost v's function
Cove Hummer
Ti 456

Incidently I've always craved a ti frame (if you couldn't guess!)

Your thoughts experiences please?

there's a fair range of prices in there.

If you're lookign for soemthign with shortish travel (<120mm) and racier geometry then Kinesis do a number of lightweight hardtails that would seem to fit the bill.

None of those choice shout "racey" to me, shirley you want something along the lines of a light ali/carbon 100mm HT.

If you want a Ti HT, then don't try and justify it to us - there just no need, we all believe the perfect number of bike is n+1 (n=current number) & are only limited by our garage space and wallets...
Just buy the one you like.

are you intending to swap out the BFe for something a little lighter, or are you looking to buy another bike

your list reads, to me, like you are still heavily trail focused (so i assume the BFe is going)

Keeping the Bfe, just want an additional steed to for XC responsibilities. I don't want a full on race thoroughbred, but something in the middle.....

Are there any Soda owners on here?

never owned a soda, but it is def an endurance racer IMHO. It's made for a 120mm fork and if you love the BFe then the soda might make the transition from one to the other more seamless as they are the same geometry just different fork length and usage (material aside), if it ain't broke don't fix it I'd say...
