Elfins – So have you actually been to ‘support’ your team this season then? Just asking.
Anyone can buy a shirt mate, or pay for a sky subscription.
One of the clubs I support do rely entirely on gate receipts to keep going, with a little bit of local sponsorship on top.
The other team I have a season ticket for also relies heavily on gate receipts as a percentage of their income.
Oh, plus that, and the actual support from being at the ground, singing, chanting, and spending money at the ground also helps the club.
On your other point about Newcastle being the most deluded club in English football – if you actually spoke to some of the fans, you would find theat they are disillusioned with the way the club is run, but are far from deluded.
The odd idiot they interview on the telly would suggest otherwise mind.
Back to my original question – aren’t there enough clubs in London for you to support?
😉
