Heading past to BPW tomorrow and thought I’d drop in for a pedal. Got the kids in tow who are more than happy smashing blues with the youngest pretty ok with red stuff. Is FOD worth stopping off and which trails would be suitable? Only going to have 2 or 3 hours…

Well worth stopping off. If you want something moderately similar to BPW then countdown and launchpad are the easier downhill trails and the best place to start. You can then work up if you want. It’s also worth going to the skills area. There’s a jumps line and a drops line. Nothing too technical but great for playing on and building up.

There’s also the red and blue XC trails for a bit if variation. Really nice trails with some good sections.

More than enough for a few hours but any one of those things would be a great way to spend a couple of hours.

The Verderers trail at FOD is perfect for what you want. An up and down route that isn’t too extreme and you cross the upper drop off point, towards the end, where all of the upper DH runs start from. You can either do Countdown and Launchpad, the two blue DH runs or continue on to The Dragons Tail descent on the Verdeeers.

Depends on how old and fit the kids are? You’’ve probably got enough time to do the Verderers followed by the push up track and Countdown and Launchpad.

    The FOD is ace.
