To me it seemed odd to make 6 changes.. it was an experiment that backfired, and there’s no reason to be experimenting at an actual tournament (unless you’re 5 up at half time) – that’s what friendlies are for. I can understand making 3 changes, as you can always rectify them with substitutions if it’s not working out – 6 is too many.
We’re toothless up front, and the CBs will be destroyed the moment they come across a decent pacy striker.
IMO (as a Spurs fan) we should be using similar tactics to what Spurs did this season – pressing with numbers high up the pitch and forcing the opp into mistakes – last night one or two players tried it, and then got frustrated because none of their teammates were helping out. A lot of the squad either currently play under Poch, or are ex-Southampton boys, or currently play a similar system for Liverpool, so it wouldn’t be hard to adapt.
We’re clearly not good enough to break down sides that park the bus, so need to alter our tactics to create opportunities.
