Need an awesome epic film to watch. I’m talking Kubrick – Deerhunter – Godfather – Schindlers List epic.

Any ideas? I’m hoping someone will come up with a classic I’ve never seen.

    Cheers

The tag line for Scott Pilgrim is “an epic of epic epicness”, so that might tie in…

Never seen Lawrence Of Arabia, I’ll check that out. Seen Gladiator recently. OUATIA not seen for years but is definitely awesome.

    Thanks

Anyone seen ‘Saving Private Ryan’? I’m a bit dubious because it’s Hanks.

    Not epic in length but…

    La Jette

    Little Dieter Needs to Fly

    Delicatessen

    City of the lost children

    Fitzcarraldo

Encounters at the End of the World

Can you tell I like Herzog?! All worth watching with an open mind!

Not a film but definitely epic, all 10 episodes of Band of Brothers in one sitting.

Had an epic movie day today

A bridge too far ( which was made even more epic by a trip to the arnham museum a couple years back)

Apollo 13 – “with all due respsct sir i believe this will be our finest hour” best line in any movie!

I keep forgetting I worked on that – still haven’t actually seen it yet, trailer looks good though.

    My epic suggestion

    The Fall

Depends on your definition of epic, but my suggestions would be ‘The Pianist’, ‘Shine’ and ‘Munich’

You can never watch apocalypse now too many times. Or full metal jacket!

Best film of the last couple of years though, that somehow went completely under the radar: God Bless America

Utter genius! In a killing spree type way!
