Just moved to Edinburgh and I’m struggling a bit with all the hills, so figure i’ll indulge my lazyness and try an ebike. Was looking a vanmoof’s S2: https://www.vanmoof.com/en_gb/configure-electrified-s2x2-eu

Looks like a cracking bike but would prefair to use a local bike shop, also not sure if they’re a bit too good to be true?

Also been looking at Kona’s ebikes. Long time kona fan so was looking at the splice-e
    http://www.konaworld.com/splice_e.cfm

I like the fact it has a bosch motor, and the fact that it has front suspension for the shitty cobbles around here.

Anyone have experience with either of the above, or any other hybrid syle ebikes I should be looking at?

    Cheers!

Will be keeping an eye on this thread, we’re about to start taking our 1 year old to daycare and live at the top of a 200m climb so looking for an ebike commuter we can stick a kids seat on.

Originally started look at $2000 “cheapo” models, then Mrs Krag decided she didn’t want a hybrid and would prefer an MTB for stability/fatter tyres in the wet (on road).

Currently looking at the Giant Fathom E+3 as it’s on offer. The Trek (mentioned in the blog above) looks a better all rounder though and I think might have eyelets for racks.

In a moment of madness I very nearly cancelled my order for a Canyon Spectral (non electric) and bought a Speciliased electric full susser for the price of two bikes but I don’t think I’m ready for only an e bike just yet.

I ride an Orbea Katu-E round Edinburgh, it’s perfect.

You can get one for £900 off the Orbea site.
