Actually I had a recent case like this…buyer wanting a refund ASAP after a few days, claimed he didn’t have £30 to buy a replacement item, RM then delivered it late, if I’d refunded, I’d have had no protection.

The seller has subcontracted RM to deliver the item on their behalf. If their contractor fails to deliver (literally) their side of the bargain how is that my problem?
It isn’t, but why shouldn’t you wait for your £10 in line with RM’s T&C’s?
Comparison with the worlds biggest bike retailer is a little unreasonable IMO.
