Couple of our windows are refusing to lock properly, looks like wear in the lock / espag mechanism, anyone ever replaced the lock espag or employed someone to do it. Looks like the sort of job where I’d fall to my death after dangling upside down out a window. In SW London if you have any reccomendations for lock fixers

Pretty easy to do. I replaced one on an upstairs window.

From memory I just took the lock handle off, undid the screws underneath holding it in the window and then took it to the local window place so they could match the part.

Or once you’ve got it out measure it and there’s plenty online/eBay.

They’re about £5 from Screwfix and take 10 minutes tops to change.
