    Whats the best way to get some tiles of my kitchen wall?

    I have thought of two methods; carefully, with a hammer and chisel one at a time OR just smash them off with a BIG hammer

    Any thoughts?

    Just tile over them, it’s a classy look.

    well, speed, really.

    I suppose I will still have to chip off any old adhesive that is left on the wall, regardless

    chisel….saves you having to go back and try to chisel off any residual adhesive from the wall if you use the big hammer method first

    just smash em off, which ever way you do it, half the plaster will come off anyway, so it will need skimming again.

    @tinribz – i don’t think SWMBO would go for that..

    @bernard – cheers, grudgingly, i can see your point…

    Just a bigger hammer….

    Hmmmmm…….. If you whack them with a hammer bits of tiny tile will go everywhere……. gently tap a chisel down the back of the tile and just ease them off, it’s pretty quick and less likely to take the plaster with it. Then with a sharp-ish chisel or a scraper get rid of any tile adhesive left on the wall.

    simples 😀

    yeah good point stompy it’s much easier to clean up afterward with the chisel method oh and flying bit of tile are sharp if you do go the big hammer method …. eye protection might be an idea
