So on the back of the recent dashcam thread (and the Mrs thinking of getting one for each car) what is the real world opinion?
Do you go for the highest FPS ie at least 60FPS to ensure you capture reg plates.
Or, go for 1080p or 4k but have a 30FPS rate?
    I suppose i’m asking 720p 60fps or 1080p 30fps? (is the resolution more important than fps ?)
    Cheers

Higher FPS for me after some nugget charged out in front of me on a mini roundabout at about 60 MPH and, when I reviewed the 1080p footage, was left with half a dozen blurred frames.

720p is plenty good enough resolution.

What PP said. 4K is useless if it’s blurry. You can easily work out a number plate from one or two 720p frames.

I’ve got 1080p 60fps and it may have been expensive but captures good detail even at night.
