Nice blast around Lydford way today, suprised to come across a still pretty deep snow drift from 3 weeks ago!

Fantastic blue skies with a nice crisp breeze to keep cool

And of course this thread wouldn't be complete without a shot of the steed!

nice. could see the odd patch of snow from bellever tor. seems to be drying up quite nicely, shame about the weather forecast for next week.

If you've been over Lydford way, you'll be in the region of the ice works, hence the snow lying around!
It was a victorian scheme ( Sourton Iceworks? ) where large pits were dug an filled, then the frozen ice was sold off during the rest of the year. Perhaps seeing snow lying around this time after suggests it wasn't as totally barmy as thought!
Really frustrating as felt desperate to get out but have prior committments all w/e.

jam bo: missed it - so what's happening with the weather next week??
cheers
