Looking a tyre for my Daughters DH bike build.

Currently undecided between the Conti Kryptotal DH F/R and the Minion DHRII DH/Assegai DD combo.

I have the Maxxis combo on my Enduro bike (both DD casing) and think its a decent combo.

Loads of people seem to rave about the Conti’s, but having never ridden them I can’t really compare.

Shopping around cost wise there seems to be about £5.00 between them……

    Thanks

The boy races on Argotal front, Krypto rear usually… Until recently he’s swapped to Krypto both ends. He honestly wouldn’t ride/race on anything else even if they were free. He’s on super soft/DH version.

I run his part-worns on my bikes.

Not very scientific, but having ridden both in a variety of casings, I’d say the Contis have the same grip but roll better

I have ridden both, moving to the conti’s allowed me to drop the pressure a couple more psi, whilst still feeling in control and rolling well.

    Thanks all.

Will give the Conti’s a go.

have tried both, and like both, I’d say theres not a huge difference between them, I’d probably get whichever was cheapest

Tried contis and gone back to maxxis. Found it takes a few rides to ride the contis in, before that they are quite harsh, and never seem to get to feel as nice as max is in my opinion

I would agree with @markspark on that point, the conti’s do need a scrubbing in period

I’m currently on a Maxx Grip DD Assegai front with a DH SS Kryptotal rear for riding bike parks abroad. I really like the Conti’s but the DD casing is a bit easier on the hands and a smidge lighter. If conti had the SS compounds with the Enduro casing it would be sweet.

Dhr2 and Kryptotal rear are quite similar – for the same 2.4” size. I don’t think you can go wrong with either. Comparing dhr2 dual compound with continental endurance.

Ive found the Kryptotal front better than the Assegai for me – but again there’s not much in it. Comparing soft Conti vs maxx terra Assegai.

Ive never run maxx grip / DD or DH casing tyres – I just don’t need that heavy a tyre for my riding.
