I have a cromecast that apparently auto defaults to surround sound so when played through normal speakers (soundbar) ends up getting out of sync with the video content, with netflix I can change the sound to stereo and the problems goes away although I have to manually do this for everything I watch.

However if I a film from my google play account I dont have the option to do this and it justs gets more and more out of sync as it goes along I have googled and cant find a fix does the STW hive mind have any solutions?

Pass. No option to manually adjust sound/video sync delay? Can do that on my AV amp and on VLC player when I get sync issues.

The Chromecast itself seems to have no function to adjust anything it is all driven by the video player and if they don’t have an option to adjust it I get the same problem

My chromecast is only plugged into my TV via HDMI and I control the sound output via the TV, typically this is the soundbar connected via optical cable.

Is yours plugged in a different way?
