I don’t know how/why I’ve never managed to see Chinatown, but anyway – went to watch the re-mastered version at t’picture house, and, bludy hell, what a film. 😯

Superb script, Jack Nicholson on top form and a terrifyingly evil John Huston, all set in a City of Angels apparently at war with both itself and the very desert. Would make for an amazing triple bill if screened alongside Mulholland Drive and LA Confidential

It is a great piece of cinema. Like you said, great performances, nailed down atmosphere and a great script. Didn’t realised they’d released a remastered version.

Surely the triple bill would have to include the sequel, The Two Jakes? Also a cracker… I have a framed poster of Chinatown on my studio wall, it’s one of my favourite film poster as well as one of my favourite films…

    Yep it’s amazing

The sequel “the two jakes” is pretty lame I seem to remember

70s Nicholson films are so good
