Just watching Highlander and getting some deja vu…

Do you have a favourite borrowed/stolen/homage to/inspired by piece of cinematography?

John Fords The Searchers appears throughout Star Wars in a number of movies.

I expect that shot was done long before Star Wars.

I’ve never managed to get a picture up on here, but if you Google ‘reservoir dogs city of fire’ you should find some both plot and visual ‘homage’ (tribute, plagiarism, inspiration, call it what you will).

John Carpenter’s ‘Christine’ borrows heavily from ‘Herbie Goes Bananas’

Hateful 8 has a lot of the same shots as and homages to The Thing.

If you watch a few older classic films you then start seeing the blatant copying “homages” in most more modern films.

Psycho is an obvious example. You see Hitchcock like shots in so many more recent films.

Heat is like total copy of La Takedown. Mike Mann must have noticed that he had already seen this all somewhere before when he made Heat😀🤔
